Team RNC were up first against Birmingham Goalball Club with some of the players experiencing competitive Goalball for the first time. A brilliant game which ended with a win for RNC, 5-3.
RNC followed up with another tight win, 8-7, against South Wales Goalball. Then, having already secured a place in the final, an 8-5 loss against a strong Nottingham Sheriffs side.
Team RNC would come up against the Nottingham Sheriffs in the final and after a hard fought match, RNC came away with silver.
RNC's Coach, Antonia Bunyan, said:
'It was great to see the students playing in the first novice of the season. There were a few competing for the first time and I'm proud of the team's progression as the day went on. Can't wait to see what else they can achieve throughout the rest of the season!'
Congratulations one and all for another fantastic sporting weekend and particular thanks go to all of the coaches, officials and volunteers who enable these tournaments to happen.
Special thanks go to Antonia's Assistant Coach, Reggie, a great mascot for the team who showed some real coaching talent.
