He interviewed his sister, Freya, who was also filmed during one of her Goalball lessons. Lennon, her guide dog, also took a starring role.
The picture below shows the full crew ready for action. Daniel sits next to Freya for their interview and Lennon is standing between them.
They observed student, Emma, during a Home Cooking Skills lesson and during her Judo and Goalball sessions. She was also interviewed in the College orchard with guide dog, Abby, at her side.
In this picture, Emma can be seen sitting with Daniel on a bench in the orchard with Abby sitting in-between them. Joss is setting up the sound and Oscar and Nico are setting up the camera.
The filming for the documentary – which has the working title ‘Perceptions’ - explored other areas of support for guide dog owners on site, and Daniel spoke to staff members Jill and Kerry about their roles.
Jill is a volunteer boarder for Guide Dogs UK so for example, if Freya was going to a sports tournament and didn’t want to take Lennon, she could book him in to stay with Jill.
Jill is pictured below being interviewed by Daniel. Guide dog, Horatio, who was boarding with Jill at the time is lying at her feet. Joss is recording the sound.
Kerry is the College’s Guide Dogs UK Link and is able to provide all the necessary advice and support for the guide dogs living on campus.

The crew were really impressed with everyone they spoke to, and with the College’s excellent facilities. Thanks to Freya, Emma, Jill and Kerry, they went away with a real insight into the supporting role a guide dog plays and also understood much more about what we do at RNC. We can’t wait to see the final edit. Watch this space!
