A busy term for RNC’s Marketing and Student Recruitment Team
RNC’s Marketing and Student Recruitment Team has had a busy and productive autumn term, collaborating with various organisations to provide exciting opportunities for young people with visual impairment.
The term kicked off with a successful sports day in September. Partnering with
Guide Dogs UK
, 12 young people aged 9-14 enjoyed a day of fun and friendly competition in acoustic shooting, blind football, goalball and judo.
In October, seven young people participated in a week-long sports residential camp in conjunction with
VICTA
. The camp offered a variety of activities, including bowling, bouldering, goalball leadership training and social outings.
The Team has been actively engaging with potential students and professionals through a series of in-house events. A College Open Day attracted seven attendees, while an open event for professionals welcomed four individuals. The popular Have-a-Go residential, which offers young people a taste of college life, saw 12 attendees.
The partnership with VICTA continued to flourish with the launch of the
Get Workplace Ready
course in October, with ten young people enrolled on the programme. The course aims to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed for employment.
The Team has also been on the road actively promoting the College at various events, including Vision Zone Southwest (Plymouth), Sight Village (London), Sight Village (Leeds), Sight Cymru Conference (Abergavenny), and a careers event in Swansea.
With one more College Open Day scheduled before the end of term and two students already signed up, the Team is optimistic about continued success in attracting new students. Hard work, coupled with strong partnerships and effective outreach has, again, resulted in encouraging numbers of student applications for 2025.
